| Ellen Christine |
Christine’s hats are reminiscent of vintage
styling as a historical reference point.
"We don’t wholesale our hats, so our business
is by word of mouth (from stylists and editors). We
benefit from branding Ellen Christine Millinery in
the global market, but I fought long and hard to keep
hats in front of the editor’s eyes. When Vogue
needed 1920’s hats...we did them.
When Camilla Nickerson left Vogue for W she took my
hats with her and put them in Italian Vogue. Nicoletta
Santoro was the first stylist to place my hat with
a Chanel gown.
Our ‘never-say-no’ attitude has helped
place our hats at the forefront of the accessory market.
For the work I do in my shop, I am proud. For the editorials
we take part in, I am grateful. But for furthering
the cause of the Hat, I am ecstatic."
