Four of Jasmin’s cocktail hats were in the
hat calendar, Hatwalk in 2009 with sales benefiting
the Asian American Cancer Support Network. Her dramatic
red pleated horsehair cocktail hat made the cover of
the calendar.
Jasmin created a ‘Mobile Millinery’ service,
where she travels with swatches and hats to clients
homes to measure their head to create a custom made
hat. She also goes back to the client’s home
to do a second fitting and then delivers the hat when
it’s ready.
“I recently made a fish-skin helmet and a cashmere
hat for a woman undergoing chemotherapy.”
She studied with Rod Keenan, including the late great
theatrical milliner, Woody Shelp and is inspired by
Stephen Jones’ retrospective.
