Kat Toronto Kat is a singer for the band Ragwater Revue and
her stage persona is 1940’s noir femme fatale.
Her foray into hat making started when she couldn’t
find vintage 40’s tilt hats in the stores. Because
of that she decided to make her own.
Much to her surprise, people began asking if they
could buy the hats she created right off her head a
concerts. The former textile and costume designer from
San Francisco taught herself the art of millinery and
it’s been a win-win ever since.
Kat had her first hat show in New York City and collaborated
with Baron Hats to design a women’s hat collection
for them. She has been incorporating whimsical nautical
and ocean themed items on her hats including starfish,
fish net, miniature wood sailing ships and seashells.
