HEADWEAR MEANS A LOT TO MANY PEOPLE

Hats continue to make people happy - Take a look:

New Orleans based non-profit organization - Caps for Kids - continues to persuade high-profile celebrities to donate signed baseball caps to children who have lost their hair from cancer treatment. Rapper EMINEM donated signed baseball caps to the charity, and reportedly so have Brad Pitt, Al Pacino, Julia Roberts, Tony Hawk and Vin Diesel.

In Winnebago, Wisconsin a group of 100 volunteers knit and crochet headwear for cancer patients. The group, called Stitches of Love, is run through the Winnebago County Association of Home and Community Education.

The group is now in their fifth year of making hats and headbands for those who need them. From 2002 to 2005 the group delivered 5,300 pieces of headwear, said Janet Hansen, project coordinator for Stitches of Love.

Stitches of Love collects high quality material from donors and has fundraisers. If you have anything to donate contact: Janet Hansen, Stitches of Love Program, Winnebago County HCE - (920) 725-0909 - Email: hansendj@ameritech.net
