THE COWBOY IS ALIVE AND WELL…AT THE DENVER MART

We just got back from the Western Apparel Show at the Denver Mart and were pleased to see that cowboy culture is alive and well…and everyone was wearing a HAT. No, they weren’t wearing Bowlers or Fedoras, but they did wear cowboy hats. Children of all ages (both girls and boys) were top heavy in Cowboy hats as well.

I also think it is safe to say that the movie, “Brokeback Mountain” had very little to do with it. As a matter of fact some diehard cowboys (and hat vendors) were emphatic that the wildly popular Hollywood flick was detrimental to the masculine image of the cowboy. Nonetheless, we had a great time, met some wonderful people, and added many West Coast retailers to the hat life family. It’s easy to get caught up in the cacophony of all things cowboy when in Denver – good news for cowboy hat vendors. With that said we hope you had a wonderful holiday and are up to the challenge of selling hats in 2006.
