HAT EXHIBIT TELLS A STORY OF CULTURE, CHURCH AND COMMUNITY

Miss Annie Mae's Hats: Church Hats from the Black Community opened last month at the James Watrous Gallery in Milwaukee.

"Miss Annie Mae's Hats" looks at the role the hat plays in black churches, and the role the church plays in the lives of many African-Americans in Wisconsin.

Miss Annie Mae's Hats: Church Hats from the Black Community runs through March 19 at The James Watrous Gallery of the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters, Overture Center, 201 State. For information: www.wisconsinacademy.org.
