THE ACTION SPORTS HOLIDAY SHOW WAS WHERE THE ACTION WAS AT LAST MONTH

We sent our roving reporter Larry Clark to the Action Sports Show in Newport, California and this is what he had to say:

“The Action Sports Holiday Show (www.asrbiz.com) previewed last month at the Newport Dunes in Newport Beach, California. It was a two-day event for retail buyers, showcasing some of the major clothing manufacturers from surf, skate, snow, fashion, and youth culture brands.

The response was overwhelming for the upcoming holiday season. Buyers got an early start on the hot hat trends for the upcoming season – which were: simple knit beanies, mesh caps and fashionable military styles. Subliminal prints, patches, labels, and direct embroidery were abundant as well.

. It also gave them some creative time with manufacturers in a relaxed, personal environment. The exhibitors showed their wares in a tent. Vendors present were Quicksilver, Hurley, O’Neill, Billabong and up and coming TRKY, IPATH, Atwater, and Factor 54 just to name a few. Over 50 exhibitors supported this early Holiday show.

In this industry it is fashion and function and Hats were evident everywhere.”
