SINGER HILARY DUFF UNVEILS TWEEN FASHION BRAND AND IS EXPECTED TO SELL $200 MILLION OF MERCHANDISE IN THE FIRST YEAR

If this isn’t enough to make you green with envy I am not sure what is. But the facts remain that celebrity obsessed young people want to buy what Hilary Duff and The Olsen twins have to sell. The reason I tell you this is because Duff is a big hat fan. She wears knit berets and caps in a lot of her TV appearances. There is no mention of a headwear licensee, so if I were you I would check it out.

Duff’s fashion company is called HD International. She has teamed with Robert Thorne as brand manager – He is CEO of his namesake company in Beverly Hills, California. Clothing sales for girls aged seven to 12 totaled $5.2 billion, up more than 5 percent from $4.9 billion a year ago, according to The NPD Group.

The tween brand, stuff by hilary duff, has been picked up by mass retailers such as Wal-Mart, Kmart and Target as well as specialty retailers J.C. Penney, Sears, Kohl's, Gottschalks, Goody's and Claire's. The merchandise will be in 10,000 doors worldwide at launch and the business is projected to exceed $1 billion in retail sales within two-and-a-half years.

Retail prices for stuff by hilary duff will range from $5 to $18 for jewelry, $6 to $20 for watches, $8 to $20 for handbags, $10 to $22 for T-shirts, $15 to $26 for fashion tops, $15 to $38 for skirts, $17 to $38 for jeans, $20 to $34 for hoodies and jackets and $59 to $99 for outerwear.

Analysts say the tween market is less crowded than juniors and women. Hilary Duff is a mere 18-years-old.

Hanky anyone?
