| NEW ERA CAP COMPANY
GOES RETAIL
New Era Cap Co. is opening their first retail
store at 9 E. 4th Street in Greenwich Village
in New York City this month.
The New York flagship store will carry New Era
caps and hats for women, children and sporting
enthusiast. The store will also carry hats from
EK by New Era and caps made by New Era's action
sports partners – DC Shoes, Stussy and Billabong.
“The launch of the company's first Flagship
store is a definitive step into the company's
future. Opening New Era New York gives us the
opportunity to develop a direct relationship with
our consumer, while showcasing a great cross section
of the headwear we make. It also allows us to
show off New Era's most innovative looks; which
will be the hottest headwear they have ever seen,”
said New Era's Director of Retail, Sid Dey.
The 2,000 sq ft boutique (with historic landmark
heritage) was developed by Jager Di Paola Kemp
Design, Burlington, VT. The architect on the site
was TPG, whose portfolio includes Barney's New
York, Dolce & Gabbana and the NBA Store. The
New Era retail space features exposed brick, maple
hardwood floors, custom cabinetry and iron cast
floor inlays with the company's logo.
Founded in 1920, New Era is a privately owned
company, headquartered in Derby, New York, with
divisions in Canada, Europe and Japan. They employ
over 1,500 people and are members of the Fair
Labor Association.
