THE CUSTODY BATTLE OVER A COWBOY HAT HAS BEEN RESOLVED

U2’s Bono reigned victorious by winning back his infamous Stetson cowboy hat. Apparently the hat was taken by a former stylist, Lola Cashman. This very public battle lasted over ten years and cost the rocker quite a bit. As a matter of fact the hat has been dubbed: “The world's most hotly contested piece of headwear.”

But the battle is now over and it will be returned to the rightful owner Bono. We hear he emerged victorious from an Irish courthouse, brandishing a court order that Cashman must return the cowboy hat, hoop earrings and clothing worn by Bono during his 1987 tour to support The Joshua Tree.

This is a great advertising and or marketing angle for a cowboy hat manufacturer (especially Stetson). You can now honestly say that a man’s best friend is his favorite hat. If you are so inclined, put together a press release and send it to the local media. This highly contested custody battle shows how much a hat can be worth to its owner in dollars and emotionality. You couldn’t make this up.
