BOLLMAN HAT COMPANY ACQUIRES PANTROPIC HEADWEAR

Pantropic, founded in 1982, is known for quality Panama hats sourced through its Ecuador office. The line also consists of outdoor packable hats, scarves, gloves, wraps and bags. Founders Donna Waldman and Armando Alvarez will stay with Pantropic and focus on sales, marketing, merchandising, design and brand development. Bollman will manufacture a portion of the Pantropic line in its Adamstown, PA facility.

“This represents a phenomenal opportunity and a new chapter for Pantropic as we enter our 25th year. We are thrilled to team up with Bollman because of their 139-year history and unsurpassed knowledge of the industry. We will continue to support the indigenous weavers and cooperatives that help foster economic growth and community pride,” said Donna Waldman, CEO of Pantropic.

“Pantropic has a market niche that, for the most part, is not served by our existing brands. We believe exceptional growth opportunities exist, particularly with sun protective hats. Pantropic has a great heritage with natural fibers and supporting Ecuadorian workshops. Use of natural fibers and support of local communities are values that align well with ours,” said Don Rongione, President and CEO of Bollman.
