THE BRODY SCHOOL OF MEDICINE WANTS TO PROMOTE HAT WEARING

Dr. William Burke, head of dermatology at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University and Dr. Peck Garner at Boone, North Carolina have asked Courtney Weems to educate the community of Western North Carolina about skin cancer prevention.

Ms. Weems was recently awarded the North Carolina Albert Schweitzer Fellowship to work on this prevention program. Because of this she will be taking the message of sun protection to the rural population of the US. There will be educational venues, area festivals, personal training sessions, etc.

Her goal is to interact with 20,000 people and tell them about the dangers of the sun. Weems would like hat donations from manufacturers or retailers to distribute at local festivals and lectures. “These hats will not only promote the use of safer skin care practices, but they will give companies an opportunity to reach out to thousands of people in Western North Carolina,” said Weems.

You can contact her at: 252-414-2758 or email her at: clw0930@ecu.edu. Courtney Weems is at 2794 Stantonsburg Rd. # 3H, Greenville, North Carolina, 27834.

I assume logo headwear is acceptable and will publicize your brand and the safe sun message!
