THE BLACK KNIT CAP STILL RIDING HIGH ON CELEBRITIES

They may be camera shy, but male and female celebrities continue to don black knit caps. Teri Hatcher’s director-boyfriend Stephen Kay wore one at a recent awards show (and on the street) and Carly Simon wore one on the Oprah Winfrey Show. Ashton Kutcher even wore a black knit cap to a Golden Globe penthouse after-party. And I assume that Brad Pitt is still wearing his as well.

What does this say? That knit caps are cool. It is not a bad idea to clip out celebrity pictures from glossy magazines and make a collage to show your customers. And that might work well for both store buyers and retail consumers. After all, if Kutcher and Kay wear black knit caps then it must be cool.
