THE TURBAN MAKES THE NEWS BUT NOT ALL FASHION WRITERS APPROVE

Some people are looking at the Turban with skeptical eyes, but make no mistake this fashion trend is going to hit the masses. The real question is: will women wear them? To be honest with you, I am not sure. What I do know is that the throw-away fashion house H&M is including turbans in their spring collection.

Even Elizabeth Hurley asked male guests at her upcoming wedding to wear turbans. The trend was started by Miuccia Prada. Even Ralph Lauren, the king of preppy chic, has added a version of the turban this season.

Fashion writer Bryony Gordon is not happy about this turban trend. “A turban might work on the catwalk, but it's harder to pull off in the real world….The only good thing I have to say about the turban is that it might be useful to hide the effects of a bad hair day.

On balance, though, I think I'd opt for the bad hair. It might look good on supermodels and Sikhs, but for the rest of us – attention-seekers included – I feel the turban is a fashion trend best left alone.”
