SERVICE COUNTS: TEN WAYS TO WOW YOUR CUSTOMERS
If you want to wow your customers check out this
list from Maria Palma. “What is wow service?
It is service that inspires and makes your customer
say, “Wow!” It makes them want to
go out and tell ten other people about your business,
adds Palma.
1. Greet each and every customer with an enthusiastic
smile and an attitude of helpfulness.
2. Treat your customers as if they are your grandmother
or best friend. Give them a hug if you are inclined
to do so.
3. Introduce yourself and use the customer’s
name when you address him/her.
4. Surprise the customer with an extra perk or
give them something for free. Tell them that it
is your way of thanking them for doing business
with your company.
5. Anticipate your customers’ needs and
fill them. Imagine being a customer wishing that
a company would carry a certain item, then walking
into that business and seeing that item on the
shelf. You would feel as if that business owner
was reading your mind? Wouldn’t that be
a pleasant surprise?
6. Get feedback from your customers and make
changes to your business according to their suggestions
or complaints.
7. If your customer calls you with an issue,
have a “no problem” attitude and do
everything in your power to help them. If by chance
you can’t help them, find someone who can.
8. Be enthusiastic when you are helping your
customer. Customers respect people who show passion
for their work.
9. Call your customer out of the blue just to
say “Hi” and see how their service
or product is working for them. How often do you
get a call from a company to see how you are doing?
Very rare, right? Why not be the business that
stands out from the crowd? People will remember
you for this.
10. Send your customer a handwritten thank you
card. If you do one thing on this list, with would
definitely be the one thing to do that would Wow
