RED HATTERS ARE FASCINATED WITH FASCINATOR HEADWEAR

We were talking with Red Hat Queen Charlotte Beasley from the Southern Belles of Boca Raton Chapter of the Red Hat Society. It seems that Beasley and her co-hatters have been looking for fascinators and are not finding them in US stores.

“I searched high and low for a fascinator for my daughter’s wedding and learned that the United Kingdom had the most unusual and beautiful hats and fascinators,” she said. Because many of these hats were costly due to the dollar exchange, Beasley made some fascinators herself.

According to Beasley fascinators will be big sellers if consumers can find them in stores (they sold very well at the Red Hat Convention in Nashville). She also suggests that the raw materials (ostrich feathers especially) be sold so red hatters can buy them to make their own fascinators. At a recent women’s club meeting Beasley got many compliments on her fascinator.

“A Fascinator can be worn on a headband and it does not mess your hair, people are totally fascinated with them. Women bought them like hotcakes at the Red Hat Convention and I think they are going to be a hot trend,” she said. “The women at the convention were enthralled with fascinators.”

Charlotte Beasley can be reached at: Bobchar7@aol.com. She is looking to purchase ostrich feathers and whimsical purple and red trimming.
