Pictures always tell a story, even
if it is a sad one. We tip our hats to the woman
who lived and loved outrageous chapeaus. Her friends
say goodbye and we take a peek.
Even at her funeral Isabella
Blow had the most spectacular hat in the room.
The hat above her coffin was a black sailing
ship bonnet by Philip Treacy
whose careers she helped launch.
One of the pall bearers was
Otis Ferry, the son of her friend Bryan Ferry
who arranged
her first job in fashion at Vogue magazine
in New York.
Isabella Blow
model Sophie Dahl and designer
Alexander McQueen were among the 350 mourners
at Gloucester Cathedral.
Actor Rupert Everett (above) said at the
service: "For someone who was suicidal,
she was constantly dazzled by life and life
was constantly dazzled by her." He added:
"You were a one off, a genius friend,
your own creation in a world of copycats and
I will miss you for the rest of my life."
