| VESPA –
THE SCOOTER MAKER – IS LOOKIKNG FOR CONSUMER
GOODS AND ACCESSORY LICENSEES
Vespa
is looking for licensing deals for apparel and
accessories.
The strategy, created by The Beanstalk Group
in New York, is an attempt by Piaggio Group Americas—the
New York firm that makes and imports Vespa scooters—to
widen recognition of the Italian brand, first
introduced in the U.S. in the 1960s.
"The equities of Vespa—Italian design,
highly stylish, modern, colorful, free-spirited
and environmentally sensitive—should translate
well to a number of product categories,"
said Michael Stone, Beanstalk president and CEO.
Products are expected to hit stores in late 2008
and will target mid-tier and higher-end retailers.
I think the potential for Vespa headwear is terrific.
