THANKSGIVING PARADE “HATS OFF DETROIT”
WILL INCLUDE A HAT CONTEST

The Parade Company
presents the 81st America’s Thanksgiving
Parade® called Hats Off Detroit!
The parade celebrates the rebirth of downtown
Detroit, the development of the Riverfront and
the success of their sports teams.
There will be a
hat design contest to find the Warmest Hat, the
Detroit Hat a Favorite Parade Memory Hat, the
Biggest Sports Fan Hat and a Thanksgiving Hat.
The Parade Company is asking participants to submit
a photo of a hat that represents one of the five
categories to www.clickondetroit.com.
Grand prize winners
will receive the opportunity to ride on a float
in the Parade. The Red Hat Society will participate
in the Parade as well
There will be 75 parade units - floats, balloons,
marching bands, clowns, specialty acts and The
Parade Company’s Clown Corps. The Parade
starts at 9:30 a.m. on Woodward Avenue and Mack
in downtown Detroit, and ends at Woodward Avenue
and Congress, on Thursday, November 22, 2007.
The route will highlight Detroit’s architectural
treasures, such as the Fox Theatre, and downtown
Detroit’s developments - Merchants Row,
Compuware World Headquarters and Campus Martius
Park.
The Parade Company costume design team has over
2,000 custom-designed fleece hats to sell to Parade
supporters. All hats are on display in Clownie’s
Closet at The Parade Company. For information
