THE INTERNATIONAL FELTMAKERS ASSOCIATION PROMOTES FELT MAKERS

Some of you were interested in contacting the International Feltmakers Association, so we wanted to introduce them to you. “The group was formed to foster worldwide interest in felt, to promote members' work and keep members in contact with one another for exchange of knowledge and ideas.”

The Association was formed in 1984 with Mary Burkett as president. Their goal is to promote feltmaking around the world (the group is run by volunteers with a passion for hand made felt).

They publish a magazine for members four times a year with articles and photographs covering all aspects of the craft from historical research, education and current practice. “Felt is both decorative and functional with endless versatility of form and our aim is to promote interest in it as well as excellence.”

The Association aims to increase involvement in feltmaking through a network of regional groups, a quarterly journal "Echoes", exhibitions, lectures and workshops. Application and information at http://www.feltmakers.com
