WANT TO KNOW WHAT WAS ON THE RUNWAY FOR SPRING SUMMER 2008 IN NEW YORK

If you’re wondering what the upcoming spring- summer trends are from fashion week in New York take a peek. According to Infomat, neutrals were king, with black, white, bright green, red, bright blue and hot pink in the fashion mix.

BADGLEY MISCHKA
Mark Badgley and James Mischka’s Spring/Summer 2008 collection was reminiscent of France in the 1920s. Colors were Black, white, and grey with yellow prints, subtle greens, and hot pink. There were "maxi" length skirts and dresses with lots of movement.

Luckily there were printed head wraps, High-waist pencil skirts and trousers as well as large glamorous sunhats.

ANDREW BUCKLER

“British designer Andrew Buckler is known for combining "blue-collar rough-n-tumble with colorful Goth-punk rock." The line was masculine, fresh, stylish and unique.

Buckler gave "preppy" a makeover, with neutrals black and white, crème and grey. When he did use color it was electric blue, red-orange, pastel yellow, a little hot pink (yes, hot pink for guys) and lime green.

Skinny trousers dominated the runway - and so did short shorts - reminiscent of bicycle shorts. Boxers and traditional swim trunks are out and teeny swimsuits and underwear are in - with matching swim caps. Don’t ask, don’t tell, I guess.

CYNTHIA STEFFE

Steffe's Spring-Summer 2008 collection included metallic silvers, gray, green, blue and hot pink.

THE METLIFE SNOOPY SHOW

Yohji Yamamoto’s Y-3 took the ordinary and made it extraordinary with color, print and proportion. The collection was comfy, wearable and functional.

JOHN VARVATOS - SPRING 2008

John Varvatos Spring 2008 Collection is simple, stylish and all about grey. Tuxedo jackets had shawl collars in contrasting colors and a double-breasted trench had an unpredictable detachable hood. Suits had sheen, and the three-piece suit with t-shirt replaced traditional business attire.
