CAPS FOR KIDS DAY IS COMING SOON

Friday October 5th is Wear Your Cap to School Day. This 501(c)3 international non-profit organization gives caps and scarves signed by athletes and celebrities to young cancer patients.

Launched in 2004, “Wear Your Cap to School Day” is a nation-wide initiative dedicated to raising awareness and funds for children being treated for cancer. They get autographed caps and sports memorabilia – the goal of which is to boost pride, confidence and help them build strength to wage the battle against cancer.

On Wear Your Cap to School Day students donate $1 for the privilege of wearing their favorite ball cap to school. Schools interested in participating can register at www.wearyourcaptoschoolday.com. Middle, junior or high schools receive a commemorative Wear Your Cap to School Day cap to display in their school. Participating school will be entered into a drawing whereby one school will be chosen at random to receive a special surprise right in their school.

Wear Your Cap to School Day has raised $120,000 and affected 106,000 students at 298 schools. New Era Cap and Hat World/Lids have been sponsors in the Caps for Kids program, providing caps to young people with cancer.
