IT’S TIME FOR THE HAT TO BECOME A FASHION ITEM IN ITS OWN RIGHT

It’s time to be creative with the concept of headwear – your customer is counting on it. With that in mind I want to mention something that has been brewing in my head for a while. How about making headwear more like jewelry or a hair accessory? That means hats that go with clothing (we did it in the 70’s) hats with assorted mix and matching bands or hats that go with sportswear.

If you are so inclined and want to pick up a possible license agreement with an overseas vendor, contact Vishnu Jairath, director of Peertex of China. He is interested in making hats and the company has a terrific line of cotton and spandex stretch shirts in beautiful prints that are priced so low you would think they fell out of a truck (it’s a joke folks). The idea is for the hat to have a matching shirt.

These printed tops cost $5.50 fob GZ -with minimum quantities of 1000 pcs per print per style. If you are a retailer or buying office, I say run (don’t walk) to pick up these shirts. I know the consumer will love them – and if you can make matching printed straw hats or hat bands – it’s a whole fashion ensemble. That’s what your customer wants. She doesn’t know how to wear a hat – and that often leaves her hatless. But if she can find an outfit that includes a hat, well that just might help her change her mind.

If you are interested contact: Vishnu Jairath at vishnu@peertex.com.cn or 886-2-25700488. If you are interested in representing the line in the US, contact Vishnu as well.

PS. By the way, we did see hat ensembles with T-shirts with matching caps and hats as well as printed trousers with matching embellished caps
