THE HAT LIFE PHOTO GALLERY – POLO STORIES AND OTHER SITES OF INTEREST

Talented hat designer Carol Carr just returned from Brentwood, Tennessee (outside of Nashville). It turns out that Carr was the guest designer at a charity hat event to benefit the TJ Martell Foundation at the Stacey Rhodes Boutique. The show was for the Kentucky Derby and Steeplechase horse events (which are a big deal for hat lovers).

Carr also spent three extra days in Brentwood meeting with customers to make special hats for the races. As you know wearing a great (and unique) hat to the races is as important as the race itself. Carr has a wonderful sense of style and voracious appetite for using color to her advantage, so we know she whipped up some amazing hats - shown below.

We hear the event at Stacey Rhodes Boutique was a great success.

Penny Ertelt from South Carolina was at the polo matches in Wellington Florida – This is one woman who knows the power of a hat. We had a hat chat and...I can honestly say that this is a woman who gets it.

Polo enthusiast Diane McFeely turned her Dorfman Pacific Scalia Hat upside down to create a new shape in headwear – and we give it the thumbs up!

McFeely would love hats to match all her clothing but says it is hard to find the assortment of colors she needs. The Hat Lady (me) told her to check out some of your websites.

If you have some lady-like colorful hats you may want to email this hat-loving Palm Beach County resident at dmcf1000@comcast.net.

DON KING CARRIES A FLAG FOR POLO AT THE INTERNATIONAL POLO CLUB PALM BEACH JUST AFTER THE DIVOT STOMP (if you don’t know what that is, it is the half time break in a polo match where guests stomp on the polo field with a flute of champagne in their hands). So much more fun than going to the Mall!

The event will take place on May 3rd. If you can get pictures at the event you might find some great inspiration for your next hat collection.
