IMPERIAL HEADWEAR BUYS CALIFORNIA COMPANY

Denver-based Imperial Headwear Inc. has acquired California-based Merge Left Inc., a headwear marketer and distributor that focuses on the collegiate and military markets.

Merge Left founder and president Jon Saferstein will remain president.

"We are excited to add another highly regarded business to the Imperial family,” said Richard White, Imperial's CEO. "Not only does Merge Left expand our customer reach, but it also strengthens our product design and sourcing capabilities."

Merge Left, founded in 1994 in Los Angeles, holds licenses with numerous colleges and universities.

Imperial Headwear has named Richard White as its new CEO. White was CEO of Phoenix Footwear Group Inc. in Arizona and has worked at Major League Baseball, Nike and Reed Exhibitions North America (that owns and manages the PGA Merchandise Shows in Orlando, Fla., and Las Vegas).
