Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week brought out the big
guns in fashion – and they brought out streamlined
sleek lines and edgy architectural designs. There
were lots of knits, color-blocking and busy prints
with bright colors such as chartreuse and fuchsia.
According to the fashion press there was an emphasis
on dramatic headwear inspired from the '40s and
'70s (that’s the good news).
Rock & Republic used fedoras to cement the
menswear look hailed for women and James Coviello
used innovative prints and feather trimmed hats
and caps. It is encouraging to see so many high
fashion designers embracing the use of headwear
to complete an outfit. Each year this momentum
continues – and celebrities continue their
love affair with hats as well.
