IMPERIAL HEADWEAR ADDS A SUN HAT NAMED THE PELZ

Dave Pelz has been working with golfers for years, and one thing he is never without – is a HAT. The hat that Pelz has been wearing was originally called the “Imperial Get Technical” sun hat until he signed on to endorse it.

“I actually wore the hat for years before talking to Imperial,” says Pelz, who used to be a NASA scientist. “I did the research, measuring all the hats out there for sun protection. This one was best, by far,” said Pelz.

“It’s being in the sun for hours at a time without enough protection,” says Pelz, the game’s foremost authority on short game and putting. “A few bad shots might damage your score, but too much sun can seriously damage your health.”

That’s why Pelz never goes out in the sun without a hat on his head. The hat is lightweight, breathable in SPEC 50 ™ Nylon, an UPF of 50+, a moisture control system, MCS™ Blocker that draws perspiration away to keep cool and The CoolMax™ Sweatband that wicks away moisture and dries quickly. The dark under-visor maximizes visibility and prevents glare – good for a golfer.

The Pelz is adjustable, packable and washable. And if you get mad after a bad shot and throw the hat in a lake, it floats. (“That’s no joke,” says Pelz. “I accidentally knocked mine into the lake surrounding the famous 17th green at Sawgrass and recovered it quite easily.”)

“I’m very proud of my relationship with Imperial,” Pelz reports. “I respect their ongoing commitment to research, and their striving for the highest level of performance for golfers in every category, including protection from the sun.”
