MORE TRENDS FROM THE RUNWAY – WOULD YOU BELIEVE IT’S UNISEX AGAIN?

Maybe it’s the war – maybe men and women are just so fused that there’s no telling them apart anymore.

A new uniformity in uniforms is hitting the streets in the form of military uniforms. Key pieces are the peacoat, overalls, trench coats and high-waist cuffed trousers.

There were architecturally engineered outfits designed by the students of the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Monique Lhuillier went luxe with furs and feathers while Diesel and Boy by Band of Outsiders went for androgyny. There were flapper styles from the 1920s and space-age designs of the future.

Other trends were bohemian (Mary-Kate again?) with a modern globe-trekker twist and the 1970's, with a return to glamour.
