CARMEN MARC VALVO TOUTS THE HAT AS A MUST HAVE ACCESSORY FOR SPRING

Talented designer Valvo was at Bellevue Square Nordstrom in Seattle recently and told a reporter that hats are an important way to update ones wardrobe.

When asked about the quickest way to update a spring wardrobe Valvo said, “I would do something yellow or orange, something in a citrus shade for sure…Also an oversize, floppy hat, a rattan hat, any straw rattan. There are some really cute ones out there. The hat is becoming more stylish. It's becoming a fashion item again.”

How great is that? The design mavens of the world are telling women to buy hats. This is good news – perhaps the upcoming tax rebates will go toward outfitting people in hats.

When asked which color he liked for spring Valvo said, “I really like yellow. We did a lot of yellow, tangeriney orange. We did this orangey coral, too. It looks good with neutrals, and it also looks good with black.

It seems Valvo also likes blue - ocean, blue, shades of midnight, cerulean blue, as well as coral, tan and pale, pale yellow.

When it comes to feathers, he is also in favor of bird-like fashion (this affects headwear as you know). “There were so many feathers for fall. There was not a pheasant or emu or an ostrich feather left. It was all about feathers. It was pretty crazy.
