HAT NEWS FROM How2hats:
The HATWALK Summer School 2009 brings a choice of
7 classes for beginners to experienced milliners.
With Ian Bennett you can learn how to work with
sinamay, and create an original hat for that special
occasion. Jane Smith will be teaching courses that
cover making your own vintage hat inspired from
vintage pieces and sharing her sculpting skills
so you can carve your own unique hat block from
polystyrene.
This year HATWALK includes glove making and a
class with Dutch designer Eugenie van Oirschot.
Students can experiment with form and structure
to create hats. If you've never made a hat before
you can attend a two-day workshop with Felicity
Faichney and Fenella Kerr and learn the traditional
techniques to create a hat.
All courses are at Edinburgh's Telford College
and will run from August 3 to 7 and 10 to 15th.

I recently ran a photo of Joy and a few other women

The photo was of Joy judging the best hat contest
for the BABCC on Traditional Ascot Day. The hats
