The World Chocolate Masters Competition is being held this week in France. And the exciting part is that the theme this year is Haute Couture. The World Chocolate Masters Competition is the world's premium International competition devoted solely to the creative use of chocolate.

And, the exciting part is that French hatter Mademoiselle Slassi has made a hat for the competition.

“This year’s competition theme of Haute Couture must be conveyed in deliciously stylish chocolate masterpieces and an original chocolate decorated hat. The contestants must also create pralines, pastry and dessert with the finest chocolate.”

The Finals of the “World Chocolate Masters 2009” is being held this week on October 14-16 at Salon du Chocolat Professionnel, Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, Hall 5.1. The finals are on October 16 from 17.00-18.00h at the competition booth.

The national selections took place in Europe, Asia and America, at national trade shows and professional schools. People from 19 countries are participating in the event.

Barry Callebaut initiated the World Chocolate Masters to discover new chocolate talent around the world, and to offer creative craftsmen a platform to present themselves to the public.
