BLOCK HEADWEAR OPENING A RETAIL STORE IN NYC

Block Headwear is opening its first retail store in trendy Nolita, in lower Manhattan.

The 750-square- foot boutique - located at 10 Prince Street between Elizabeth and Bowery - will showcase the Block headwear collection.

“For the past twelve months Block Headwear has been on fire at retail. We want to support consumer interest and brand awareness by presenting the line in a unique lifestyle format,” said Sam Hafif, CEO of Concept One Accessories.

Milliner Ciomi McCabe will move her design studio into the space and set up antique blocking equipment. Customers will be able to learn about the manufacturing process of a hat-which includes molding and steaming material around a block of wood.

The store will also offer small leather goods, belts and bags, as well as a limited number of other licensed brands (Original Penguin headwear) and cold weather accessories. An updated website, Blog and e-commerce (beginning in May) will support store sales.

Block Headwear is a NYC-based hat brand founded by designer Ciomi McCabe and owned by Concept One Accessories. Block Headwear is a ten-year-old company.
