| JOHN PENMAN MAKES HATS FOR OREGON MUSEUM
Penman, founder of Penman Hats, created a replica of the hat worn by Howard Hughes during the famous flight of the H1 (better known as the Spruce Goose) for the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum.
"The hat I made for the museum was an exact replica using beaver felt and vintage ribbon. Just like all of my hats, this one was made by me by hand (no sewing machine at all) even the bound edge," said Penman.
Penman added: "They wanted a hat so people visiting the spruce goose could sit in the cockpit and take a photo of themselves sitting in the pilot chair like Howard Hughes did (with a hat on)."
Penman will be offering a replica of the hat made for the museum on his site at www.penmanhats.com. Penman can be reached at: info@penmanhats.com
He also made a hat for the hit TV show "Leverage" as well as a replica of the hat worn by Harrison Ford in Raiders of the Lost Arc for http://www.thehatmuseum.com.
