Reebok Joins Up With Hip-Hop Giant Nelly:
Global sportswear company Reebok has entered into a long-term partnership with multi platinum-selling hip-hop music star Nelly. The deal includes a signature collection of athletic footwear, apparel and accessories that will be launched in 2005 in select boutiques and athletic specialty retailers, with an expanded distribution in 2006. Nelly will also be featured in Reebok's ‘I Am What I Am’ global advertising campaign. "Nelly has a unique style that transcends music and cultural genres with a broad consumer appeal that speaks to who Reebok truly is,” said Dennis Baldwin, Reebok's chief marketing officer. Cynthia Nixon’s new fedora
SEX STAR FIGHTS FOR HER HAT:
Former “Sex in the City” star, Cynthia Nixon fought with another customer over who was going to buy a charcoal gray stylized fedora with charmeuse trim from Christine A. Moore Millinery. The hat attack occurred at the Liberty House boutique on the Upper West side of Manhattan. Apparently the hat had just arrived in the store. (Fosse-see www.camhats.com/fall).

NEW ERA GOES TO BOSTON FOR INSPIRATION:
Boston Red Sox Baseball's 2004 World Series Champion First Baseman David Ortiz designed the New Era Cap Co,’s 59FIFTY baseball cap. It will be available at select retail stores on July 28. Ortiz is the second Major League Baseball player to design a New Era 59FIFTY, he joins Roger Clemons and that capacity. The 59FIFTY is made of black satin front with black linen mid and rear panels. Ortiz's cap highlights three important things to him: his mother, his country and his career -- the front embroidery is has the Boston Red Sox in red embroidery, and the front lower left-wear side has tonal embroidery is the silhouette of Ortiz in his signature homerun stance -- two fingers pointing to heaven. On the right- side of the cap is the Dominican Republic crest with "DR" inscribed beneath it. The rear is a tribute to his mother, his Angel and on the under visor is an embroidered replica of Ortiz's signature. The cap also features a checked shirting material lining. All Capture the Flag collectors pieces will be featured in their own signature presentation box.


Gena Conti Millinery’s one-of-a-kind chapeau “C.Devil” was selected for the Kentucky Derby Museum’s Hats Exhibit for 2005-2006. This exhibit highlights the best hats worn on race day. The hand- blocked hand-sewn hat has four layers of imported bleached sinamay. The curved brim is covered with pleated off- white synthetic horsehair and both brim and crown are draped with dotted black chenille white Russian veiling with antique patent embroidered circles on the crown. Vintage black patent straw bows and feather wing also adorn the hat. Complementing feathers of black and white stripped hackle and curled red rhea tails circle the front and side of “C.DeVil.”
