USA TODAY TAKES THE HIGH ROAD FOR HEADWEAR
Hats were the topic of conversation in
USA Today last week.
The article, A Tip of the Hat to Fashion,
honors hat wearing as a sign of acceptance
because of its Hollywood heritage: “Derbies,
fedoras, cowboy hats. Hollywood fashionistas have
been spotted sporting all shapes and sizes this
fall. USA TODAY takes a look at celebs showing
off their headwear.”

Uma Thurman
- “In chilly New York City on
Oct. 21, the sexy Prime star made
the rounds in a furry Club Monaco
topper, a fitting display of this
season’s new Russian-look fashion
trend.” |
|

Charlize
Theron - “The North
Country star was a front-row attendee
at the Pegah Anvarian fashion show
Oct. 17 in Culver City, Calif. With
low slung fedora and trench coat,
she is the picture of the season’s
new gentlemanly styles.” |

Sharon
Stone - “Only Stone
could pull off an over-the-top cowboy
look in Hollywood during daylight.
She was in denim and white hat Oct.
18 at the unveiling of Antonio Banderas’
star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.” |
|
| |
Ashlee
Simpson - “Simpson
hit TRL Oct. 18 sporting a French
cabaret look, a loosely crocheted
black beret with matching flower over
one ear. Later that night, she was
photographed in a leopard print beret.” |

|

 |
Yoko
Ono - “Stepping out
for Prince Charles and Camilla’s
New York visit Tuesday, Ono was far
from a wallflower in a plunging black
outfit topped with a matching cockeyed,
wide-brimmed bonnet.” |

The headwear industry has been blessed with lots
of free publicity by the sheer nature of its adoring
celebrity fan base. The music industry has also
been wearing hats equally as voracious as attitude.
This hat fascination will hopefully continue because
young people will only get older and more accepting
of covering their heads. |
