From
where I stand (in New York City) I see a tremendous
shift toward the peace, love and flower child
days of the 60’s in mainstream fashion.
Embroidered jeans, protest T-shirts and flower
child frills are everywhere, and they seem to
be selling. The knit cap with tassels, pom-poms
and ear flaps are all part of this free-style
‘don’t tell me what to do’ trend.
It is a time of war and war protests, so how close
are we to the venerable 60’s anyway? There’s
embroidery on everything these days and it looks
great. Another Icon of the 60’s, the artist
Peter Max, is having a resurgence of popularity
as well.
Forever 21 is a Junior Chain
store (with over 400 stores nationwide) selling
these retro-fashions from the 60’s in abundance.
This store is really well worth shopping for quick
fashion flashes. They seem to have their hand
on the pulse of the fashion beat for young fashion
mavens. They are selling a lot of crochet, embellished
and embroidered items with bohemian flair. They
don’t have a lot of hats, so you may want
to contact them at: business@forever21.com.
This is what their website says –
“Forever 21, Inc. is always interested
in developing business relationships with a variety
of garments suppliers, both in domestic and international.
