We watched in amazement as young women and men talked, walked and caroused to their own beat in Las Vegas. It seemed the most impressive piece of equipment was not headwear, but silicone. But hats did take a close second in value-added appeal. Skirts were shorter than short (the Religious right would say, “obscene”), tops were tight and headwear was predominately Western with and without glitz. If you want to grab some of this blossoming business I say, decorate Western hats like it’s the Fourth of July all year round. Glitter, glamour and glitz is still the norm, and will continue to be as long as Jessica Simpson and Nicky Hilton are in charge. As for the grown-ups, sorry you are out of style this season.

Big Girls with Little Clothing Habits:
You want to know why the fabric business is having difficulty these days. The problem is that young women are NOT wearing clothes. Many of the Vegas gals (this was taken at a private charity event at the new posh Green Valley Ranch outside of Las Vegas) wear very little other than attitude. Sorry folks.
