BIRDS OF A FEATHER FLOCK
TO HEADWEAR
Mother Plucker Feather Company is supplying a
wide variety of feathers to the fashion and headwear
industry. If you’re looking for custom dyed
(or natural) boa, turkey feathers, schloppen,
rooster feathers, peacock, peasant or guinea hen
feathers call them at 213-637-0411 or email: mpfco@aol.com.
They also have a terrific new line of mini feathered
handbags in brights. Mother Plucker Feather Company
sells feathers to headwear designers Louise Green
and Tracy Watts. They also created the white angel
wings for the Victoria Secret fashion shows.
Feather hair pieces are also available from Something
Special, a division of INTRACO, Inc.
We saw them at the Magic Show and were impressed
with their selection of youthful hats and colorful
feathered toppers. Some of their feathered pieces
are worn as hair accessories and will sell beautifully
in hair salons. Contact Dexter Omori at: 323-725-1001
ext. 203 or at hatsla@yahoo.com.
Their website is hatla.com.

Philip Treacy is also very vocal about his love
for feathers. "They are exquisite, perfection.
They are weightless, give movement and volume. Woman
love them and they are very sexy," said Treacy.
Feathers, both real and fake, are being used by
many headwear and handbag designers (including Prada).
Consumers are taking their fashion cues from the
Royals by wearing feathers in their hats and berets. |
